Look where we live, this is some great fishing going on. Our local and visiting anglers are having a lot of fun. Our local angler Gene Mayfield was fishing at Catfish Paradise in the Topock Marsh area. (This is a real nice spot with a great fishing pier for anglers and a nice launch ramp for boaters to enjoy). Using anchovies from shore Gene was able to land this Channel Cat that was 6.1 pounds and 24 and 1/2 inches. I have heard that chicken livers are also a great catfish bait in the marsh area. Gerry Ward, our local angler, with his limit of trout that he landed in the Rotary Park area. He was fishing from shore using mice tails in a green pattern.

Our group of local and visiting anglers stopped in to share their catch and story. This carefree lot had a great time at our Community park area. They had a variation of different swim baits that they were throwing to land these stripers. Kenan Guleryuz landed the larger one of the bunch at 19.02 pounds and 38 and 1/4 inches. Rob Chau fish was 7.60 pounds and 29 inches while Larry Felando from San Pedro landed a 6.40 pound striper at 25 and 3/4 inches Mike Gonsalves also using a swim bait landed his first striper at 4.78 pounds and it was 24 and 1/4 inches. You can tell by the big girns form ear to ear it was a great day fo this group of friends.

I have been hearing that the fishing up on Lake Mohave is picking up the shore near Telephone Cove on the Arizona side has seen a few boils along with the area near princess cove. If you are having any luck stop in and share the catch and story we do look forward to those visits. A quick note on catch and release its best for the fish if you use a barbless hook or at least smash the barb on the hook you are using. this makes it easier to release the fish and makes the chances of survival increase so another angler might catch that fish thanks for caring. Mostly thanks for all of your support we will see you in soon
