With the weather starting to give us a few days that are pleasant out side the fishing is picking up. Our local angler Jim Reed was able to land a nice striper in the casino area. He was fishing on the Arizona side using anchovies to land this nice 25.02 pound striper at 44 and 1/2 inches. I have been hearing that a few smaller stripers have been landed up above the nature center area. This is great news as most of the bass large mouth and small mouth bass have been in spawn and should be guarding the nests. the striped bass seem to like the fast water to lay their eggs and its usually the smaller males are there to help out the process. When you can find these schools of the 1 to 4 pounders the limit is ten below the Davis Dam and that can make for a great fish fry.

No word from up on Lake Mohave but again its been super windy which does keep most anglers in and waiting for that break i the weather to get out there. Our water levels are starting to get a bit better which should help the fishing down river in the Topock marsh area. We hope to hear from that area soon maybe a catfish or two.

For now its mostly the shore line here along the Colorado river below the Davis Dam. I am hoping for a good report from the Willow Beach Hatchery on the trout plant. Usually this time of year its to hot for the trucks to transport the fish that far. We still might get one more plant but doesn't look good. the good news is they gave us a bunch of fish Rainbow trout that is and they are out and about in various holes for our anglers to locate.

We wish you all some good luck and hope to see you in with a fish or two so we can share that story and the catch. Most of all thanks for all of your support see you soon
