25.92-pound Striped Bass

Here along the shores of the Colorado River, the striper bite has been steady with plenty of hookups. Most of the action has been from smaller fish getting to the bait first, but some bigger catches are coming in as well.
Local angler Mike Selby landed a beautiful 8.21-pound, 30-inch striper—light for its length—but his 25.92-pound, 41-inch trophy striper is an outstanding catch. He was fishing from shore at Rotary Park using an AC plug. Joining him was Big Ed, a solid fishing companion.
We’re also hearing good news about rainbow trout—recent stockings at Rotary Park have anglers reporting limits. Community Park is producing some striper action too.
Up on Lake Mohave, the striper bite has been hit-or-miss, but when it’s on, anglers are landing fish in the 4- to 8-pound range.
